Zach Parise reaches deal with Islanders

Veteran forward Zach Parise agreed to a contract with the New York Islanders on Friday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed for Parise, who had the final four seasons of his 13-year, $98 million contract bought out by the Minnesota Wild on July 13.

Parise, 37, played the past nine seasons with the Wild.

A six-time 30-goal scorer, Parise recorded 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) in 45 games in 2021-22. He has 810 points (393 goals, 417 assists) in 1,060 career games with the New Jersey Devils (2005-12) and Wild.

Parise will be reunited with Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello, who held the same position with the Devils when they advanced to the 2012 Stanley Cup Final.

Parise’s father, J.P., played parts of four seasons with the Islanders. He recorded 171 points (73 goals, 98 assists) in 240 games with the club.
