The Los Angeles Kings re-signed restricted free agent forward Alex Iafallo to a two-year, $4.85 million deal on Wednesday.
The agreement means the sides will avoid an arbitration hearing, which was set for July 20. Iafallo was the Kings’ only player to elect for arbitration.
Iafallo, 25, collected 15 goals and 18 assists while playing in all 82 games last season, finishing fourth on the team in goals and sixth in points. According to the team, he was named the Kings’ player of the year based on fan voting.
After going undrafted in 2017, Iafallo joined the Kings on a two-year, entry-level deal and played in 75 games as a rookie, tallying nine goals and 16 assists. He also finished plus-10 that season, though that figure dipped to minus-17 this year.
Iafallo made $925,000 in each of his first two years in the league.
